Meaghan Sweeney exhibits work internationally, most recently in NonFinito at Sensus Luoghi per l'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy and How Many Steps to Reach You, Rooberoo Mansion in Tehran, Iran.
Often using metaphor and contemporary symbols as a catalyst, Sweeney's practice unites video, audio, installation and photography with more classical mediums of painting, sewing, and drawing. Working with current social and technological paradigms; thoughts behind creations seek to question feminine identity and contemporary culture - often through themes of memory, time, recovery and loss.
Sweeney trained in Studio Art at Hamline University, earning her BA in 2013. The artist completed her MFA degree in 2017 at Studio Arts College International in Florence, Italy, where she currently resides.
